March 26, 2010; Newark, NJ; Dan "The Outlaw" Hardy makes his way to the scales for his bout against UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre. Four straight wins in the Octagon and brash talk have landed him a shot, but does he have a chance???
I’ll be shooting UFC 111 tonight at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ (albeit from the aux section due to a problem with creds), and I’m pretty darn excited for this card, topped by UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre defending his title against Dan Hardy. On paper, the match looks like it should be a blowout, but will it be?
Hardy can strike, and this is something he has been waiting for, just to hear him talk (which he does a lot) makes you believe he can win. He’s won four straight in the Octagon, and is now where he wants to be. Tonight he gets the chance to capitalize.
On the other side of the Octagon is one of the world’s best in Georges St. Pierre. He’s probably better than Hardy in every facet of the game, except maybe striking. Sounds eerily familiar to Matt Serra’s upset of St. Pierre doesn’t it…
Here’s some images of the weigh-in, in stark contrast, Hardy made for some great images, while St. Pierre never even looked up after hitting the scale…

Georges St. Pierre was pretty stoic at the weigh-in, never even looking up or posing for the cameras
Should be a great event, the Prudential Center has been sold out for weeks, the fighters are ready to go, here’s hoping I have a great shoot too (keeping fingers crossed…)
