Fresh off vacation, I headed out to MetLife Stadium last night to cover the NFL Football game between the Carolina Panthers and the New York Jets. In typical preseason fashion, it was a pretty tame event to shoot, although the starters played into the 3rd quarter, neither team was overly impressive on the offensive side of the ball.

After a bit of a snafu on whether I would be shooting the New York Giants in the “Canyon of Heroes” or at MetLife, I wrapped up my NFL season at the Stadium. While not as exciting as the parade in NYC, it was still pretty cool to be around the excitement. 30,000 plus fans made their way to the Stadium to honor their team on their Super Bowl XLVI victory over the New England Patriots.

Covered the Green Bay Packers quest for an unbeaten season today as they travelled to the home of the New York Giants, and were given their toughest test of the season. After Eli Manning drove the Giants to the game tying score with :58 remaining in the game, Aaron Rodgers showed why he is the best QB in the game today, driving the Packers down the field for a game winning field goal as time expired to move the unbeaten Pack to 12-0.
Was a great day to shoot football, beautiful skies and temperatures around 60 degrees (on December 4th!). Had a pretty good shoot overall, and enjoyed getting back on the field. It had been awhile with all the travel I’ve done lately.

It was an absolutely beautiful day to shoot the matchup between the San Diego Chargers and New York Jets yesterday afternoon. Blue skies, temperatures in the 60’s, and great light. Unlike Saturday night’s fight, this game was a barnburner, with the Jets rallying for a 27-21 win over the Chargers, sending the crowd home happy.

I was assigned to shoot the New York Jets-Dallas Cowboys opener, which coincided with the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. I pretty much knew, before I even arrived at the stadium, it would be more about covering the emotion and atmosphere of the event, rather than the action itself.
All along the drive to the game were reminders of how the country has changed in the 10 years since the attacks. Traffic was long, cars were searched by NJ State Police and bomb sniffing dogs patrolled around every car entering the lots. Things never seen 10 years ago…
Inside MetLife Stadium however, was a celebration of remembrance for those lost, and for those who continue to fight to keep our country safe.

Last month, I was asked to do a shoot with Tiki Barber for HBO’s Real Sports. I can finally show off a picture or two since the episode has aired and the ad has run. The main objective of the shoot was to get one image of HBO’s liking for an advertisement to run in Sports Illustrated.

After unceremoniously dumping the New York Jets two seasons ago and walking away, only to un-retire (again!) to play for the Minnesota Vikings, Brett Favre made his return to face the NY Jets at the New Meadowlands Stadium in front of 77, 000+ rain soaked fans on a nasty night in East Rutherford, NJ.
It was a tough night to be working, I arrived early, set up and went out to shoot warmups, and the lightning and rain began, bad enough for the Jets to chase everyone from the field, and fans were required to move to the concourse for safety. Thankfully I escaped just before it hit, and stayed dry…I wasn’t so lucky later on.

What a difference a week makes! Last Monday against the Ravens, the Jets offense was ultra conservative, sloppy, failed to score a touchdown, and Mark Sanchez threw for a meager 73 yards. Fast forward a few days, the Jets offense put up four touchdowns, three via Sanchez touchdown passes in defeating the Patriots 28-14 in front of a raucous crowd at the New Meadowlands Stadium to even their record at 1-1.

Shot my first NFL game of the season last night at the New Meadowlands Stadium, the new stadium is impressive, the New York Jets offense…not so much. Both myself and the Jets offense were rusty last night, thankfully for my shoot, I shook mine off a bit quicker.
