NFL Football: Jets v Panthers

NFL Football - Tim Tebow
Aug 26, 2012; East Rutherford, NJ, USA; While starting QB Mark Sanchez was sharp, New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow (15) was mainly kept in check in the 2nd half (although the Jets haven’t unveiled his play package yet I’m guessing) as the Panthers defeated the Jets 17-12 in preseason NFL football action.

Fresh off vacation, I headed out to MetLife Stadium last night to cover the NFL Football game between the Carolina Panthers and the New York Jets. In typical preseason fashion, it was a pretty tame event to shoot, although the starters played into the 3rd quarter, neither team was overly impressive on the offensive side of the ball.

Photos: A (NY) Giant Celebration!

Feb 7, 2012; East Rutherford, NJ, USA; New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning carries the Vince Lombardi Trophy onto the field, along with teammates Justin Tuck and Zak DeOssie during the New York Giants Super Bowl XLVI Rally at MetLife Stadium. Photo: Ed Mulholland/US Presswire

After a bit of a snafu on whether I would be shooting the New York Giants in the “Canyon of Heroes” or at MetLife, I wrapped up my NFL season at the Stadium. While not as exciting as the parade in NYC, it was still pretty cool to be around the excitement. 30,000 plus fans made their way to the Stadium to honor their team on their Super Bowl XLVI victory over the New England Patriots.

NFL: Packers Survive Challenge

Dec 4, 2011; East Rutherford, NJ, USA; Aaron Rodgers led a last minute drive against the Giants to keep the Packers hope for an unbeaten season alive. The Packers defeated the Giants 38-35. Photo: Ed Mulholland

Covered the Green Bay Packers quest for an unbeaten season today as they travelled to the home of the New York Giants, and were given their toughest test of the season. After Eli Manning drove the Giants to the game tying score with :58 remaining in the game, Aaron Rodgers showed why he is the best QB in the game today, driving the Packers down the field for a game winning field goal as time expired to move the unbeaten Pack to 12-0.

Was a great day to shoot football, beautiful skies and temperatures around 60 degrees (on December 4th!). Had a pretty good shoot overall, and enjoyed getting back on the field. It had been awhile with all the travel I’ve done lately.

Beautiful Day to Shoot NFL; Jets Rally!

Oct 23, 2011; East Rutherford, NJ, USA; Sunny skies and nice temps made for a nice shooting day at the Jets-Chargers game (a Jets win was nice too...) Photo: Ed Mulholland

It was an absolutely beautiful day to shoot the matchup between the San Diego Chargers and New York Jets yesterday afternoon. Blue skies, temperatures in the 60’s, and great light. Unlike Saturday night’s fight, this game was a barnburner, with the Jets rallying for a 27-21 win over the Chargers, sending the crowd home happy.

NFL: 9/11 — An Emotional Night

Sept 11, 2011; East Rutherford, NJ, USA; New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez (6) runs onto the field carrying an American Flag before their game against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium. The game was played on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. Photo: Ed Mulholland

I was assigned to shoot the New York Jets-Dallas Cowboys opener, which coincided with the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks. I pretty much knew, before I even arrived at the stadium, it would be more about covering the emotion and atmosphere of the event, rather than the action itself.

All along the drive to the game were reminders of how the country has changed in the 10 years since the attacks. Traffic was long, cars were searched by NJ State Police and bomb sniffing dogs patrolled around every car entering the lots. Things never seen 10 years ago…

Inside MetLife Stadium however, was a celebration of remembrance for those lost, and for those who continue to fight to keep our country safe.

HBO’s Real Sports Tiki Time

May 31, 2011; Wayne, NJ; USA; Shot an advertisement for HBO's Real Sports last month with Tiki Barber and Armen Keteyian. Good time, Barber was great, but it was a tough shoot logistically. Photo: Ed Mulholland/HBO

Last month, I was asked to do a shoot with Tiki Barber for HBO’s Real Sports. I can finally show off a picture or two since the episode has aired and the ad has run. The main objective of the shoot was to get one image of HBO’s liking for an advertisement to run in Sports Illustrated.

Jets Win; Favre Sets Record; Hydrophobia Gets Tested!

Oct 11, 2010; East Rutherford, NJ, USA; Jim Leonhard (36) and the rest of the New York Jets defense harassed Brett Favre in the first half, then hung on in the second, on the night the Vikings QB surpassed 70,000 passing yards and threw his 500th career touchdown pass. Photo: Ed Mulholland

After unceremoniously dumping the New York Jets two seasons ago and walking away, only to un-retire (again!) to play for the Minnesota Vikings, Brett Favre made his return to face the NY Jets at the New Meadowlands Stadium in front of 77, 000+ rain soaked fans on a nasty night in East Rutherford, NJ.

It was a tough night to be working, I arrived early, set up and went out to shoot warmups, and the lightning and rain began, bad enough for the Jets to chase everyone from the field, and fans were required to move to the concourse for safety. Thankfully I escaped just before it hit, and stayed dry…I wasn’t so lucky later on.

Jets Rebound; Beat Pats!

September 19, 2010; East Rutherford, NJ; USA; New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez (6) and the Jets offense rebounded from last week's poor outing against the Ravens to throttle the Patriots 28-14. Sanchez threw for 3 touchdowns. Photo: Ed Mulholland

What a difference a week makes! Last Monday against the Ravens, the Jets offense was ultra conservative, sloppy, failed to score a touchdown, and Mark Sanchez threw for a meager 73 yards. Fast forward a few days, the Jets offense put up four touchdowns, three via Sanchez touchdown passes in defeating the Patriots 28-14 in front of a raucous crowd at the New Meadowlands Stadium to even their record at 1-1.

NFL: Ravens Slip by Jets

September 13, 2010; East Rutherford, NJ; USA; The New York Jets defense managed to contain Ray Rice and the Ravens offense, holding them to 10 points. Unfortunately for them, the Jets offense was held to 9. Photo Copyright: Ed Mulholland

Shot my first NFL game of the season last night at the New Meadowlands Stadium, the new stadium is impressive, the New York Jets offense…not so much. Both myself and the Jets offense were rusty last night, thankfully for my shoot, I shook mine off a bit quicker.

NFL: Jason Taylor Joins the Jets

Scenes like this one last season will now be a thing of the past with the marriage of Jason Taylor and the New York Jets.
Scenes like this taunting match between Jets fans and Jason Taylor last season will now be a thing of the past with the marriage of Taylor and the New York Jets.

Former Miami Dolphins linebacker Jason Taylor, a player the Jets fans loved to hate and a player who loved to hate Jets fans, will now be cheered by Jets fans as he has agreed in principle to join the team next season.
